Teacher Training for Yoga Teachers

The Teacher Training Program consists of a 120-hour training in two components: A Personal Practice Weekend followed by 4 weekends spread over 5 months to deepen your practice, and learn about teaching meditation, including a silent personal practice weekend.

The Personal Practice Course kicks off on our very first weekend together. It is an experiential journey to practice meditation and make a commitment to your daily practice.

Silent days start from 6am with one hour meditation, break for breakfast then continual sitting until 1pm for lunch and 6pm for dinner. The day ends with an hours meditation at 8pm followed by questions, coaching, support to discuss how it went

To apply, you must submit:

• The Student Application – A 200–500 word email on why you would like to become a Certified Meditation Teacher – listing your personal goals and intentions.

Level One

Intro weekend to establish practice - (one of the days is Silent apart from Coaching/questions if required)

Knowing how to teach meditation is not the same as knowing meditation experientially. This level sets the scene for the rest of the course.

There will be time to talk through the process about to be entered and a commitment to the journey; whatever it brings. One to One Coaching/Mentoring on what ‘comes up’. Time in silence to learn own resistances and how the mind works so you are able to understand another persons journey and support them through it.

Knowing meditation techniques and practices by taking time to experience them for yourself:

Body/Breath Awareness Techniques

• Self-Inquiry Practice

• Vipassana - observing and detaching to find peace

• Mindfulness Practices

You will also be trained to facilitate meditation gatherings and discussions and to offer these additional meditation practices:

• Loving Kindness Meditation

• Mindful Eating Meditation

• Mindful Walking Meditation

Understanding yourself and your mind; how you think, the coping strategies you use, unconscious thoughts, breaking limiting beliefs and re-framing what you used to think into something more empowering

Establish support network, group coaching sessions, make plans for us to meditate together on Skype and Coaching to ensure continuity or practice.

Level Two

How to teach and what to teach - (one of the days is Silent apart from Coaching/questions if required)

How to manage a class, the techniques to deliver, the practices you want to convey and share, your responsibility as a teacher, creating effective lesson plans, delivering the message, knowing what is important to include, writing a manual, creating safety and reassurance for students, maintaining contact with them, who will you teach, how to create courses that flow from one to the other

Includes time to write and plan your courses and sit in meditation for inspiration - three hours per day, mindful walks, time to have one to one coaching and share course creation ideas.

Level Three

Putting Into Practice over a weekend (one of the days is Silent apart from Coaching/questions if required)

Practice teaching your course to the group, feed back of how it felt and if it was at the right level through supportive feedback

Assessment

Keep a personal Journal

One To One Coaching and Group Coaching

Visual

Written essay of your personal journey - where it started and how it progressed, to where you are now

Maintaining a meditation practice

All levels include at least two or three meditation sessions throughout each day. This way all the resistances will come up so they can know what their students could be going through.

Level Four

Deepening Your Practice over a weekend - (one of the days is Silent apart from Coaching/questions if required)

Discussion Session:

What does meditation mean to you?

How has this journey changed you?

Do you feel confident to teach/share your knowledge and understanding?

Do you feel confident to be able to support your students?

Anything else?

Coaching to root out residual blocks
