Abstract Portraits

Portraits are generally thought of as images of people as they are or in a persona of sorts. I love to create images that represent who people are and not necessarily what they look like.
There is so much pressure to conform to social norms and to fit in by looking and dressing in certain ways that are deemed acceptable and beautiful. However, we do not all fit into those categories very comfortably, which can cause anxiety, self consciousness, lack of confidence and a general sense of not being good enough.
We are all special and beautiful in our own way and what really makes us beautiful is who we are on the inside. What are values are, how we treat ourselves and others and the inner confidence to be who we are.
The self portraits I have created all expressed something of me at the time of creating and they were done during isolation and uncertainty. I feel I can track changes and process within myself through them so they all have a special meaning to me.
When you think of yourself, the spirit, essence and nature of You, what colours do you see, what feelings do you have, what objects, things or people have special meaning to you?
My images are created through blending and merging several images on top of each other and creating something out of them. The below comprises a Buddha, flowers, love and colours that gave it the feelings I wanted to express. Some of my work is less obvious and it is not even possible to know that I am in the image but I am in all the images you see on this site.
If you are interested in exploring an Abstract Portrait of yourself I would love to talk to you.
